WHEN I COULDN'T

 When I couldn't sing a song

I read out my poetry,

When I couldn't play the music

I danced along with it.

When I couldn't be a princess

I became a loyal knight,

When I couldn't be the damsel

I became the evil witch.

When they couldn't bear my courage

They called out on my audacity,

When they couldn't see me bloom

They tried cutting off my roots.

When I couldn't stand the village

I was made an outcast,

When they couldn't get the job done

I became the leader of the pack.

When I couldn't be seen as the hero

I was molded into a villain,

When they couldn't stand me as the saviour

They dubbed me as the slayer.
