I WONDER WHY

 


I wonder why I feel so exhausted these days.

Reflecting the tiredness in your eyes.

I see you rushing from here to there

As if to hide a pain very obvious.

You are spending nights, drunk in wine,

Flirting with people you cannot see.

Throwing away the robes of your sanity,

Spitting flares of disappointment.

Living a reality farther than a dream,

With an unseen yearning of what you want.

The joke is funny but does it make you laugh?

The song is beautiful but does it make you dance?

Running through machines, wearing luxury clothes,

Or sleeping wholesome nights in a homey ambience.

Chose what you like! You deserve it!

It breaks my heart for I can't help you much.

Hoping for your own words to heal you,

I wish for your peace who blessed me with remedy.

    This poem is about my idols in life who have always inspired me, but nowadays I notice them getting tired. After all we all are humans everyone needs time for themselves and everyone deserves to be themselves.

You are lashing out to me fiercely Creating a fire that burns my heart to ashes,  I hear your eloquent words that jab me hard Repeating the past, reopening the memories. Do you really think I do everything for you? Maybe yes, maybe no, but you are in my thoughts,  The beginning of my emotions that starts from your name Flowing like a river larger than Amazon,  Always giving you my finest creations Because for me you deserve nothing less.  You say that you still haven't forgiven me But why your eyes soften on me? Letting me hold your hands tight,  Asking me to sit right beside you. Coming so close only to say you are going too far, Oh dear, do you know that you are such a tease?

 कहीं आग में जलते को बारिस की नमी मिल जाए  रेगिस्तान के प्यासे को नहर का नीर मिल जाए,  सागर में डूबते को जहाज़ का सहारा मिल जाए और इस मुरझाते जहाँ में मुझे तु मिल जाए,  गुल खिलते होंगे बाग में, मेरे दिल में शोले खेलते थे | तूने उन शोलों का दीपक सजाया  मेरे हर अंधेरी रात को तूने दिवाली बनाया,  मेरे हर ज़ख्म का मरहम बना तु,  हर बदसूरती का आशिक बना तु  अगर इस जिंदगी को क़ुदरत बेघर कर जाए,  तो इस रूह की आख़िरी पनाह बना तु |
